The Galleria on Al Maryah Island is one of the most famous places in Abu Dhabi and is considered to be the most attractive shopping destination there although it is new. It hosts during the holiday season in this year a number of celebrations and special activities that suit all age groups. The guests can enjoy the Festival of Lights that will be held along The Galleria waterfront promenade every weekend starting from December 5th, 2013 until January 11th, 2014. This festival is especially held to offer the guests a unique and exceptional experience for shopping and dining.
Once you arrive at the place of celebration, you will be dazzled by the enormous amount of sparkling lights that spread in the whole place around you, Majlis tents and fascinating palm trees with elegant lighting, pendant snowflakes hanging in the ceiling, the Exchange Building which is lit by number of different of lights and external projections with different shapes in addition to a chain of artificial butterflies that are inlaid with jewels and are carefully made to look charming.
The carousel is considered to be the most important item in the Festival of Lights. It does not only attract those young kids, but it also fascinates the adults who can share this unique experience with the young kids to remind them of their old memories during their childhood. The Great Room is prepared for a group of performers who play live music for entertaining guests. There are also world-class acts that will be performed throughout The Galleria by international performers who include stilt walkers, jugglers, acrobats, living statues, unicycle riders, clown and fire poser.
There are two digital drawing areas that are installed outside the precinct to allow the children to sketch their drawings on a touchscreen device. This will be projected live via a huge canvas screen. You can complete this exceptional trip by having a meal at one of the most famous restaurants that can be found in The Galleria as you can have your meal on the promenade or in one of the two dining venues that exist there.
You can enjoy the Festival of Lights on Thursdays from 6PM to 10PM and on Fridays and Saturdays from 3PM to 10PM. You can enjoy your time with your kids through the carousel on Thursdays from 6PM to 10PM and on Fridays and Saturdays from 1PM to 9PM. In order to get pleasure from listening to music in The Galleria Great Room, you can go there every weekend at 6PM until December 28th, 2013.
